Become a Hospice Care Volunteer

Volunteers are at the heart of Beth Israel Lahey Health At Home hospice services. Here, you can make a positive difference in the lives of others by volunteering for hospice.

Volunteers Needed

Beth Israel Lahey Health At Home offers many locations to volunteer, including:

Bereavement Services

  • Supportive telephone outreach to bereaved and grieving families

Sawtelle Family Hospice House

  • Greeting family members and other hospitality activities
  • Patient visits for comfort, conversation, reading or reminiscent activities
  • Light meal preparation and baking
  • Light administrative tasks, including assembling information packets

Visits within the Community

  • Patient visits for comfort, companionship, conversation or reading
  • Patient vigils or religious practices
  • Light administrative activities

Veterans

We are also part of the We Honor Veterans Program and are looking for veterans to volunteer as part of the veteran-to-veteran program.
